Privacy policy
Short version: this is a simple static website. We do not run accounts, we do not take your payment, and we do not sell your data. Here is the longer, honest version of what happens when you visit.
Who we are
Monument Valley Tours is an independent guide to Navajo-guided tours of the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. We publish tour comparisons and travel guides. We are not the operator of any tour, and booking and payment happen on third-party platforms, not on this site. You can reach us at info@monumentvalleytours.org.
What this site collects
The site itself is static, which means there is no login, no shopping cart, and no form that stores what you type. We do not ask for your name, address or payment details, because you never buy anything here.
We do use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, in aggregate. That tool collects anonymous usage data: which pages get viewed, roughly how long, what device and browser type, how you arrived (for example, a search engine or a link), and an approximate location based on your IP address, typically down to the city or region, not your street. Google processes this on our behalf. We use it only to see what is helpful and fix what is not.
Cookies and affiliate links
Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar identifiers to tell repeat visits apart. That is the main first-party use of cookies here.
When you click an affiliate link and land on GetYourGuide, Viator or Expedia (via our partner Travelpayouts), that platform may set its own cookie so any booking you make is credited to us. Those cookies belong to the platform, not to us, and they are governed by that company's own privacy policy. If you book, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, which is explained in full on our affiliate disclosure page. We never see your payment card, and the platform does not share your personal booking details with us.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you or run retargeting ads from this site.
- We do not collect sensitive personal information, because the site gives us no way to.
How to opt out
You are in control of analytics and cookies. You can turn off or clear cookies in your browser settings, or browse in private mode. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install Google's official browser add-on, or use a browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts. Many browsers also offer a "do not track" or tracking-prevention setting that limits third-party cookies, including the ones affiliate platforms set.
Children
This is a travel-planning site for adults booking trips. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
